If you’re married, It’s so important to share special those times together one on one. To do things together that the other person wants to do. It’s important to care for one another, and to build in time to have fun. And to just pick up the phone and call one another and send love letters, and even love emails. My wife and I always check in with each other at least once or twice a day by either calling, or sending an email. Just make sure you type the right email address.
I love this funny story about a couple from Minneapolis who decided to fly to Florida to thaw out after a long – icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel plans. So the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, With his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room. So he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address and without realizing his error, sent the email. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband’s funeral. He was a minister who was called home to Glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The son rushed in and found his mother on the floor, and found the computer screen on with the email opened which read; To: My Loving Wife Subject: I’ve arrived Date: Oct 16, 2009. “I know you are surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now, and you’re allowed to send emails to your loved one. I’ve just arrived and have been checked in. I’ve seen that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as un-eventful as mine was. PS- Sure is hot down here.” Make sure you type the email right.

Perhaps you have a friend or loved one returning from the military this summer! What will it be like to welcome them home?
Today on the Family Friendly Afternoon Show, I shared a story about a military husband coping with ‘Post Military Stress Disorder’. This is a huge cause for prayer! Our brave military men & women are, in many cases, faced with very different lives here at home after their service. The power of prayer is the greatest tool we have to show our support. See their stories, and pray for these precious men and women & their families. Look here:
