1/2 c. plain yogurt (We use stonyfield farms organic)
1/4 ground flaxseed OR 1/2 tablespoon Flax Oil
1/8 c. Maple Syrup OR Ripe Banana (or both for extra sweet)
5-6 large frozen Strawberries
1 c. Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1-2 scoops protein powder (we use Vanilla Whey- but have also used a Veggie powder made with a soy base)
2 large handfuls ice
Optional 1 apple cored
Optional 2 teaspoons of Acidopholis/Probiotics (for good gut ecology!)
Like I said- make sure you put the soy milk and the spinach in together and blend so that the spinach is pretty well blended beforeyou add other ingredients. Everything else I just add a bit in at a time and then blend- in no particular order. I would try to put the dry ingredients in the soy milk just after the spinach- just to make sure it is all blended till smooth. If you use sweetened soymilk or sweetened yogurt it will make it alot sweeter- but then you should adjust the maple syrup. We have tried to make it less sweet so we get maximum health benefits without adding all the carbs and calories of Maple Syrup. You could try Blue Agave which is a low-glycemic sweetener… or stevia…
Hope you love it!
