Why is it that you can always see the strengths in someone else, but are at a loss to know what value YOU bring to the table? This book has helped a lot of people find out what strengths lie within, just ready to be fanned into a flame. I just did this with my 16 year old daughter. I’ve done it too and think it’s wonderful. You need to buy the book to do the on-line test because each book has a unique code in a sealed envelope in the back. Here’s a link to Amazon, but you can certainly get it anywhere you’d like.

Here’s a reading a listener shared. It’s something she found while going through a difficult time. Take a listen, and read the printed version below.

If you’ve ever tried to figure out how to set goals, like me, you might have gotten so overwhelmed with the plethora of hopes and dreams in your mind that you couldn’t figure out where to begin. That’s normal. What we need is someone to ask us questions in an effort to narrow our focus; someone who can simplify our many dreams into one over-arching desire or goal. I found such a one…not a person…but a web-based system that asks all the right questions and then spits out a mission statment that is uniquely me, or you. Click here to get started.

It’s going to take a long time before Haiti gets back on it’s feet and the devastation always has a ripple effect that lasts for months and sometimes years. Evergreen Community Church was already gearing up to pack meals for the people of Haiti even before the earthquake hit, so the timing of this effort is nothing short or miraculous. There are two ways you can help, financial donations are being taken by the church and they will also be hosting two days of packaging meals to be sent to Haiti. The dates are February 20th and 27th. Here’s a link for more info. If you’d like to sign up with me, send me an e-mail and let me know you’d like to help. We’ll make it a party with a purpose!

If you’re like me, you have a hard time visualizing what is happening in Haiti. I found this video on msnbc and it gives a pretty good snapshot of the state of things and the aid that’s coming in. It really moved me. Perhaps it will help us inspire specific prayer requests in us. Click here for a list of organizations who are on the front lines of this effort and would appreciate your help.

I think we’ve all bought workout videos that were a disappointment the first time we viewed them. If only we could have watched a little bit before purchasing, we never would have bought it. Well, there’s a website that gives you a 60 second clip of just about any fitness video you’re interested in. Plus, it tells you the difficulty level, and what kind of exercises are being done. I love it! It might help you too. Here’s a link to www.collagevideo.com

How many drawers, boxes and bins do you have of tangled, miscellaneous cords that take up space and seem to grow exponentially while you sleep? Here’s a method I used to organize mine recently. Perhaps it will work for you too.
How to organize the loose cords in your home.
1. Gather a couple boxes of zip-lock bags (sandwich size and gallon size worked best for me), and some blank address labels.
2. Separate all the cords into piles as follows: Read more »

Here is a reading that a friend sent to me. Take a listen.
God Said No
by Claudia Minden Weisz
I asked God to take away my pride. And God said “No”.
He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up. Read more »
